Solved: Quick Hard Drive Question

850 Views 2 Replies 2 Participants Last post by  XboxGuy15
I have an older computer (five years) and it has dual Ultra-ATA66 hard drives. I think one of them is dying, so I plan to replace them. I run on down to newegg, and they don't even sell ATA66 drives anymore.

My question, can I buy an ATA100 or ATA133 hard drive, and will it still work in my PC? I'm not running a RAID set up or anything, just got them both plugged into my motherboard, through what I believe is my IDE cable...

Ah, thanks. I assumed it was the speed and not the interface. Like RAM speeds, I suppose.

Thank you!
