I would like to enter a number, say 123456, in a cell and, after pressing enter, have it read 1,234.56. I can't believe that none of Corel's custom numbers do this. They all do 123456.00. Excel is no better. Harry B

Hiya and welcome

I've moved you to Business Applications for more response. I've also edited out your emal address, as that is how the majority of SPAM is generated :)

To do that in Excel
From the menu's select Tools, Options, Edit Tab, Fixed Decimal Places 2 then clcik on OK
When you come back into the spreadsheet type in your numbers e.g. 123456 will appear as 1234.56
carry on enterring your numbers.

Note Remember to turn this option off when you no longer need to enter numbers in this way.

Now select the cells that have the numbers in and then, select from the menu's format, cells, and in the Numbers tab select Number as the category and then turn the "use 1000's seperator" option on then click on OK

You probably have the similar approch in QP, but I haven't used QP for many many years so can't help you there.
