Hi,
I'm trying so setup a wireless network via:

Start - All Programs - Accessories - Communications - Wireless Newtork Setup Wizard

and follow all the instructions. When it asks me to use the flashdrive and use it on any computer i want to add to the network and do so, the other computer (laptop) after agreeing to add the pc to the current network, I get the error message:
"The wizard cannot create a wireless network, either because a wireless network adapter is not installed or because software for the wireless adapter is not installed"

The laptop is not connected wireless but via ethernet. Could this cause the problem?

The Laptop runs XP Pro and the desktop Windows XP Media Center Edition Version 2002 Service Pack 2

Has anyone a step-by-step solution how to go from here and still get it going/working?

Thanks a lot

A computer cannot connect wirelessly unless it has a wireless adapter. Why are you trying to connect computers via wireless when they are already connected via ethernet? And, to what is the computer connected via ethernet?

More generally, what are you trying to do? You mentioned 2 computers and apparently one has an ethernet adapter and the other a wireless adapter and you have one ethernet cable. Anything else?

You shouldn't have both wireless and Ethernet on one computer. It's kind of hard to understand what you're saying, but that's what I'm understanding.

Unplug the Ethernet wire from the laptop, or whatever computer you want to connect wirelessly, then make sure it has a good wireless card.

Hi,
The first Computer, which is a desktop, is connected directly to the modem and the second PC has an internet connection via an ethernet cable.
The only thing I'm actually trying to do is having access from one PC to the Laptop and the other way around, so I can access files both ways.
Maybe I'm doing it the wrong way and someone could tell me how to proceed or do it the right way.

Thanks

"... the second PC has an internet connection via an ethernet cable."

What's on the other end of that ethernet cable? Your desktop with ICS enabled? A completly different cable or DSL ISP?

(I'm trying to find out if you have the two computers already on the same network. If so, can suggest how to enable file and printer sharing.)
