Solved: Problem making an MP3 CD.

I have Windows 7, Internet Explorer 11, and I'm using Windows Media player. I have all my music on my desktop in MP3 format. I want to make an MP3 disk and I can not! Somehow the Windows Media player won't make an MP3 disk. It wants about 15 disks to complete the burn (none of them in MP3 format)?

Is there a utility I can download or buy that will do this? I have tried Itunes but that just burns them in an order I do not want. I just want all my files in the order I have them in separate folders. Example: 1. Judy Garland 2. Jeanette MacDonald 3. Movie themes, etc. Itunes puts it in a different order?

Is there any utility that will make an MP3 disk in the same order each folder is in?

Just burn the files as data. Like you would any other file. Don't use Media Player.
When you burn an Mp3 CD the player will play the files in the same order that Windows Explorer uses, an alphabetic sort.

So in the example you give if the folders use just the name they'll be in this order:

Jeanette MacDonald
Judy Garland
Movie themes

But if you rename the folders to have a number in front they'll be in this order:

1_Judy Garland
2_Jeanette MacDonald
3_Movie themes

The files in those folders will also play in alpha order.

You can use WMP to burn a Data CD but there are many freeware burning programs that are much better.

Try CDBurnerXP. On the download page click "More download options" then select either "32 bit" or "64 bit" next to "Default installer (Without OpenCandy)".

Thank you so much for your quick response!

So as I understand your answer, I must re-name my files by placing a number in front of it to burn in the order I want? Also, all the songs in that file should be renumbered in the order I want them burned or they will play and burn in strict alphabetical order correct?

Only other question I have is about the CDBURNERXP. What's the difference of the 32 or 64 bit option? Remember all my files on my desktop is in MP3 and that's what I want to burn to make an MP3 CD.

Thanks again for your quick response!

Yes, you have to rename your folders to the desired order and also rename the files if you want them to play in an order other than alpha.

You might want to make copies of the folders and files and rename those to use just for burning so as not to change their current names. You could then delete the copies after you're done burning.

The Windows 7 operating system can be either 32 bit or 64 bit. To see which one you have go to Control Panel > System and Security > System and look at "System type".
I'm gonna try everything later on........soon as I pig out on some holiday buffet's!

THANKS AGAIN FOR ALL YOUR HELP!!!
I tried CDBURNERXP and it worked beautifully!

Everything is burned on one desk and it's in MP3 and the same order I want it played!

Thanks Stanley for all your help!!!
