I have recently bought a Compaq Presario 2029, running XP Media Edition.
I now want to add a PCI card to provide a parallel port. There seem to be surprisingly few of these cards on the market, the most commonly-listed one I have found being from Startech.
Has anyone any experience/comments on this product in particular, or such cards in general please?

Happy New Year !!

I've used a couple of the Startech parallel port cards, and they've worked for me. I also have several of their dual serial cards installed in machines here.

Thanks for the response.
Have you used the 'normal' PCI1PECP or the 'economy' PCI1P model please? From reading the specs, there seems to be little difference and they retail at virtually the same price anyway.

Postscript....

Quite by chance, while rummaging in my box of "IT spares" at work a few days later, I found an old BrainBoxes Parallel + Serial PCI card (goodness knows whence it originated!). So I tried that, and it worked - so not only did I save money, but I've got a serial port as well if I ever need one!! Incidentally, got very good e-mail tech help from the BrainBoxes people along the way.
