Have purchased and installed the above, however when I do a scan there are 11 viruses showing but only 2 are removed. I disabled system restore and scanned again but with the same result, is there anyway to get rid of these other viruses?

Hi, Rather than simply deleting blindly or telling you to> you can post a Hijackthis logfile and perhaps there is something we can help with.

There are directions here to do it: There are .zip form and .exe form, take your pick.

Download it here:

http://radiosplace.com/

Or here.

It's a direct download so be ready with the folder for it.

Basically, you create a new folder, the desktop is OK provided you make a folder, name it something like HJT, and download TO that folder, run hijackthis.exe from there. If there are users of the computer who might start HJT and use it, hide the program in a folder elsewhere!

First open a reply here in your thread to have it ready.
Run Hijackthis.exe, and
Select the "Scan and save a log" button...

When it is done scanning> the Save box will become available, save the log as hijackthis.txt which will open with Notepad. Hit the EDIT> Select All then the EDIT>Copy button at the top of your log, Go back to TSG, and click once in the blank reply space, then go to the top of your browser window and select EDIT>Paste.
Please do NOT use HJT yourself to remove anything, most of what it shows is good and needed by the system.

Hi John, You didn't quite get the Hijackthis.exe into it's OWN folder, you have the application running from the desktop....you must MAKE a new folder: Right click any part of the desktop background...and select New> Folder, now rename that to HJT.... and OK. Look for hijackthis.exe, right click, hold and drag it over onto the new HJT folder, let go and select "MOve Here" and now you have hijackthis.exe inside it's own folder.

If you like, you can create the new folder in Program Files, My Documents, but you have to do that using Windows Explorer, if you know how, that is fine.

Post a new log please with hijackthis.exe running from it's own, separate folder. This is important> the backups that HJT makes will be scattered and/or lost and you may need them at some point. We would not stress the separate folder part if we did not have to!

Hi, Yes, you have it in a folder now. Sadly, not much wrong that I see in the log>

Run Hijackthis, and put checks next to these items, have all other windows and browsers....CLOSED> then, click "Fix Checked":

(Apparently, you have uninstalled this> if so, you can fix:

That is all I feel does not belong there!

Restart after and run AdAware SE and SpyBot. I don't see any entry for either, so if you do not have them (you should get BOTH as they find different things.) here are directions and location:

flrman1 said:
Go here and download Adaware SE.

Install the program and launch it.

First in the main window look in the bottom right corner and click on Check for updates now then click Connect and download the latest reference files.

From main window :Click Start then under Select a scan Mode tick Perform full system scan.

Next deselect Search for negligible risk entries.

Now to scan just click the Next button.

When the scan is finished mark everything for removal and get rid of it.(Right-click the window and choose select all from the drop down menu and click Next)

Restart your computer.

Then go here and download Spybot Search & Destroy.

Install the program and launch it.

Before scanning press Online and Search for Updates .

Put a check mark at and install all updates.

Click Check for Problems and when the scan is finished let Spybot fix/remove all it finds marked in RED.

Restart your computer.

.
Be sure you update the detections for each program even tho you are just now installing! They should have some. You need to get those using the program's built in updater before you run scans.

Post a new log when you are ready!

Also> can you tell us the names of files, locations on the hard drive, that Panda found? Are they still being found- and what does Panda say- Uncleanable?
