I was successfully using Olympus Master camera/photo editing software until I had to have a new hard drive installed. I re-installed the software but now get error messages when trying to use some of the editing features. I contacted Olympus who have advised that by re-installing the software, I have all the necessary components and suggested it is a problem with my computer.

I may have copied the program across from the old drive once the new one was installed but I have subsequently un-installed and re-installed from the software disk and wonder if the copying across has caused a problem somewhere.

The error message I receive is:

OlyPlgMgr.dll
Plug-in could not be executed
{264AF77B-87D7-4BC5-AB47-B59F357AC37D}

I also get the following message if I try to open the program with autoplay:

OLYMPUSMaster.exe - Unable To Locate Component
This application has failed to start because olkeywdm.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem.

My system locates the file olkeywdm.dll when I perform a search for it and finds OlyPlgMgr.dll in a couple of different locations within Olympus Master.

Also, the following window appears from time to time, seemingly regardless of what program/software I am using, and I have no idea why.

I am running Windows XP Home Edition.

I am completely stuck and have no idea how to resolve this. I should be extremely grateful for any assistance.

I may have copied the program across from the old drive

how did you do this

you have to install programs
it may be worth going into control panel and removing the program from there

then delete the files you KNOW you copied across

then re-install from CD

Thank you for your reply. You are just up the road from me as I'm in Horsham, West Sussex.

I still have my old drive installed as a slave drive and, from memory, I think I copied the Olympus Master folder in Windows Explorer from the old to the new drive. It was about 3 months ago so I may not be remembering this correctly of course!

I did uninstall Olympus Master via Control Panel and re-installed it using the software disk that had previously worked OK but this did not correct the problem.

I have just received a reply from another forum I posted this query in and they suggest uninstalling the program isn't removing the possibly corrupt file. When I have a little more time, I will be trying out their solution. However, I would be interested if you had any other thoughts on the matter.

any way you can delete the files you KNOW you copied ??

did you just copy the file from program files across ???

I tried the above but didn't have a flash9.ocx file, instead I found a flash9b.ocx and tried it with that but to no avail.

Whilst looking for something else, I found my missing flash.ocx file in my recycle bin and have now restored it successfully.

I am still in the process of resolving my Olympus issue.

Whilst looking for something else, I found my flash.ocx file in the recycle bin. Once restored, all was well!

With regards my Olympus problem, I did a search for all Olympus Master files (even though I had already uninstalled it through Add/Remove Software) and deleted any that were still detected. I then searched my registry for files with the name Olympus Master and deleted any found. I re-installed the software and all features are now working.
