I friend of mine uses windows 2000 and needs ODBC for a school project.

Thing is, it doesn't seem to exist in her control panel.

Do you have any ideas what may be the cause of that?

I asked her and she said she finds no "BDE administrator" there.
I can only see "Administrative tools", is that what you meant?

I added a screenshot of her Control Panel.

Just a note, I never used win2000.

Does she have any kind of database application installed, such as MS Access? The BDE Administrator I had you looking for is the Borland Database engine. It usually gets installed with just about any application that depends on a database, at least thats what I've found to be the case.
