There is a site i couldnt connect to on one of my comps, so i followed a suggestion found via google and ran the command flushdns and then restarted my comp. Now i cant connect to the internet at all!

Im using a home wifi network, but thats not the problem, because my tablet still connects via that.

I have windows 7, 64bit, 8 gb ram.

If it matters, cmd said it didnt recognize the flushdns command, but i restarted anyway. When i open internet explorer, it says "internet explorer cannot display the webpage". Under More Information, it lists as possible causes, "the dns is not reachable" and "the dns does not have a listing for the websires domain".

Thx for your help.

The command is

ipconfig /flushdns

Start, Run, CMD, OK to open a command prompt:
(For Vista or 7 type CMD in the Search box after Start)

Type the following command:

IPCONFIG /ALL

[Note that there is no space between the slash and ALL.]

Right click in the command window and choose Select All, then hit Enter.
Paste the results in a message here.

If necessary use a text file and removable media to copy the results to a computer with internet access.

I too noticed that I had done it wrong, and redid it as ipconfig/flushdns and restarted it again, but it still won't connect. Also, the comp made a funny sound when it restarted after doing just "flushdns" and another funny sound when it restarted after doing "ipconfig/flushdns"

I think my meddling is only making it worse...
