Ok I have a Linksys wireless router connected to my pc and wirelessly connected to a laptop I have a Jetdirect 175x print server connected as well. The printer shows up on the network so both computers recognized and installed it as a network printer. However when I try to print there is no response, in the hp toolbox it says that it cannot establish two way communication with the printer. I have no idea what is wrong if it’s the print server or some configuration problem help would be most appreciated

The documentation for the printer or the print server claims that these two should work together?

I've no experience with a print server, so sorry if this is a dumb question: does the print server documentation say anything about needing to configure firewalls?

Why did you install it as a network printer? You shouldn't have.

1) Find out what the IP address is of the printer.

2) Install the printer to each of the computers as a LOCAL printer. Do not automatically detect the printer. Add a Standard TCP/IP port and install the printer to that port.

P.S. The PSC means printer, scanner, copier. If you use a jetdirect card , I don't think the scanner will work.

I installed it as a network printer because im going through a wireless router and yes I know the scanner wont work I just wanted it so other people could print without having to go through my machine as a print server

Doesn't matter. Install the printer as a local printer, but use Standard TCP/IP as the port. That way, you computer will control the printer (when it's in use), and the computer does not expect a print controller to handle the job.

P.S. I say this because I have two printers, a LaserJet 1200 (with a Netgear print server box), and a Color LaserJet 2600n. Both are connected to my Linksys WRT54GS, and I connect to them wirelessly.
