I have a p4c800-e deluxe asus motherboard with a p4 3.0ghz cpu and a more than sufficient psu. now the problem is asus sound is always screwed up, either with mysterious sounds playing in the background, or spots that stop all sound activity or no sound at all, well i just instead bought a audigy 2 zs gamer. I have had that card in the computer for 3 months and then i moved back home for the summer from college(and by then i had built a faster computer so i was using this as a server for cs, and was going to give it to my parents cuz theirs was a pos) when i plugged everything in and turned it on, the sound didn't work, so i checked the bios to make sure the onboard audio wasn't on, it wasn't, check to make sure it was using my audigy sound card, it was, checked to make sure it was fully connected and such, it was along with everything else. So dazed and confused and slitely po'd, i formated and ran a fresh copy of windows(for my parents to infect with multiple viruses) well, it didn't work. So now my parents either want me to fix the sound card and buy mine(i could really use the cash) or buy a dell for $750(and i could make about $550, $200 for a flatscreen.) I need to find out a good attack plan to fix my problem(its 2 late to rma the board) and i've tried the card in another computer, it works fine even w/o drivers, just basic windows drivers worked.(although i did try their drivers 2.) Please and thank you for all your help.
