The WD My Book 4TB 3.0 I use for backup has become write-protected on my Windows 8.1 system. I can connect it to my windows 7 computer and add and delete files just fine. Connect it back to the win 8.1 computer and I get a write protection notice when trying to move any file to it. Disk Management lists it as Read Only. I just need to know how to to remove the write protection / read only status. Thank you.

Thank you for the link and I've bookmarked it for future reference. However, after talking to the WD tech support and them running their tests, they decided the drive needed to be replaced. The new one arrived today and appears to be working fine.
