I'm confused with EULA. After reading (ha) it I still don't know if it is legal to load all 3 computers ( not networked) in this house with my purchased XP cd. Also, how many times can I reinstall XP on the same computer. Can someone explain it to me? Thanks

It is not legal to install one copy of XP on more than one computer (unless you have a multi license pack, which you would know if you did).

You can reinstall the same copy of XP on the same computer as many times as you need.

Thanks for your prompt reply. It just isn't right to pay a high price for an OS and you are only allowed to use it on just one of your computers--doesn't make sense!! If and when you reinstall on the same computer, do you still go thru the activation procedure?

You can't activate an unlimited number of times. 3 is the limit, but it does reset after a year or so, otherwise you need to call Microsoft to complete the activation. But yes the activation does generate an id specific to your computer.
