When I open a document in Microsoft Word and I go back to the open document window it shows me the same program name but a new icon, this time the paper part of the picture is not bold.It looks more like it's clear. And the file name of the document, is the one that's open but instead the first 2 letters are replaced with a ~ and a $. ( ~$ ) When I open that document at the bottom left corner in Microsoft Word it sais, "requesting Virus Scan."
Then a File Conversion dialogue appears and it shows me some fonts that look like squares.

Is this a Virus?????????

That is normal.
The file with ~ at the start is the "working copy" that Word maintains. It is not designed to be opened, for that reason

The transparent icon tells you that the file is in use.

That is normal.

The scratch copy it keeps is in a different format to the saved copy.

It does indeed display as you say.

It is part of the Word system of operation, ity is not a file that is designed to be opened and edited or viewed. When Word closes normally, that file is deleted. If Word or the PC crashes, recovery by Word is often possible as the file remains.

I can't understand why you would want to open part of the underlying system files though.
