Solved: Lost power while shutting down computer

Good morning, Last night I was shutting down my computer and it was updating it was saying do not shut off computer. Well my luck we lost power. Now this morning I can sign on no problem but then it going to a blank screen, the windows start app won't load. The only thing I can get to work is my task manager with control, alt, delete. Please help. I have HP computer and windows 8. Thanks

if not try booting in a safe mode

Thanks but I got it fixed. Just had to get smarter than the computer.
