[SOLVED] Logging out in XP PRO

When I log out of any user on my XP PRO machine the screen goes black and the only way to get it back on is to unplug the machine. It has no on/off switch in the back and pushing the front power switch has no effect. My wife just bought this Dell 2400. Is this normal for XP?

Check in start/control panel/ administrative tools /services/ and scroll down to fast user switching. Roght click it and verify it is set to auto.

I have just finished downloading and installing 40 windows updates and everything is working fine.
