I bought an Easyshare M530 about 2 months ago. Installed the software, and it worked for a few photos. They next time I tried, the software doesn't find the camear. Read some of the threads here, and uninstalled the software and ran the cleanup I still can't get the computer to recognize the camera. When I plug it into the USB, I get a beep, and My Computer shows Drive N:, but it is just there for a second and disappears. I'm getting frustrated. I'd hoped that taking the software off would solve the proble, but it seems that something else is going on. Help me please.

I've tried using the card reader that is built into the computer, and get a message that it is unaccessible. The camera uses micro SD cards, so I have to use an adapter. I don't know if the adapter is the problem or if the data isn't readable. When I checked the drive without a card in it, it says to insert a card, but with the card in place, I get the inaccessible message.
I wouldn't mind using a card reader if I didn't need the adapter, but the micro cards are a nuisance.

I tried doing the firmware update, but it didn't run, so I got a card reader that accepts micro SD cards and it works. It's more of a nuisance that just plugging the camera in, but it will do. I'm going to try uninstalling the easyshare software and see if it works without it. I think it will, and I already have Picasa.
Thanks for your help

After I bought a card reader and successfully offloaded photos from the micro SD card, I uninstalled the Kodak software and ran their cleanup file. I figured I was done, but just out of curiosity, I plugged the camera back into the USB slot. The computer recognized the camera and offered to send pictures to Picasa. Before that, the computer would not even recognize that the camera was there. Needless to say, I won't be reinstalling the Kodak software.:)
