Hi, I got an iPod shuffle for Christmas but have not actually been able to use it yet as I can't install itunes. I just don't have the know-how to be able to sort the problem so I'm calling your superior knowledge!

When I go through the installation wizard I get the message:

" iTunes couldn't be installed because Visual Basic Script (VBScript) is not installed or has been disabled. Make sure VBScript is installed, Turn off script blocking in anti-virus and personal firewall software, re-register VBScript, and then install iTunes"

As I don't really know what VBScript is, I googled it and then performed the downloads recommended in order to get the PC up to date in that respect, but on retrying to install iTunes I got the same message.

I'm afraid that other than the computer is running XP, this is more or less where my knowledge ends. I know the info given is pretty vague, sorry! I don't really know what I'm doing and Apple refuse to help me because I have a PC.

If anyone knows how I can resolve this problem I would be eternally greatful as I'm getting more and more frustrated with just blindly trying small adjustments.

Thanks for any help you can give me.

Not sure if this information page from the Apple site will help. It has a link to the download that you should need. Did your download also install the VB script software for you? The page also has instructions on how to register VB scripts.

Good luck in getting iTunes installed (and working).

Thanks cwwozniak!!

I kind of feel a bit lazynow though that I hadn't found that myself!

It makes me really angy that they wont just tell you in the apple shop what to do when it is their own product. The guy just kept saying "I'm sorry but we're not trained on PCs and Apple can't help with anything if that's what you are using".

Anyway, enough of my rant, I am all up and working now, thank you very much for your help.
