hey, I had a bootleg version of windows xp service packed 2 on my computer and I went out and purchases a original windows xp service pack 1 cd and install it on my computer. I did all the necessary updates and its now up to a service pack 2. However i did not override my previous version of windows xp and so i had two operating system on my computer. I tried to access my files and programs from the new version which i installed but could not. I also got a message saying that i had no sound device installed or it was been used by another user. Everything worked as usual when i booted up using the bootleg version.
I didn't know what to do so i installed windows service pack i again and when it was all over i had the version i had loaded first and the version i just loaded, my bootleg version was gone with all my files and programs. I had over 4000 mp3s which took up 90% of my hard drive and although everything seem to have disappeared I only have 2.8 gig of hard drive space remaining.
Please help me in resolving the major problem. I need back my mp3s
Kevin.
