As far as I know, Hoggett, there is nothing illegal about making a backup copy for your own use, no matter what the eula states.
If I'm wrong, I'm sure someone will point to the reason

This site is sensitive to the topic, because 'we' can not tell your intentions and anything described could tell a person how to copy for illegal distribution.
