Solved: HJ log - Please help

I have some sorta virus/malware on my comp.
Ive done a scan with adaware, spybot, both updated and in safe mode with system restore off, and networking enabled. (I have Lan ethernet; Novus telecom). In all instances i have found and fixed all the viruses found but they seem to rehatch somehow.

I then did a scan with hijack this and fixed some bad stuff. namely this:

I should also mention that Iexplorer uses all cpu cycles when I use it sometimes??? This has all happened in the last few days. I am using System suite 5 as my anti virus and it is also updated everyday. Windows XP is also updated and has sp2.

Welcome to TSG! :)

Click Here and download the the new version of Killbox and save it to your desktop.

Double-click on Killbox.exe to run it. Now put a tick by Delete on Reboot. In the "Full Path of File to Delete" box, copy and paste each of the following lines one at a time then click on the button that has the red circle with the X in the middle after you enter each file. It will ask for confimation to delete the file on next reboot. Click Yes. It will then ask if you want to reboot now. Click No. Continue with that same procedure until you have copied and pasted all of these in the "Paste Full Path of File to Delete" box.

Restart to safe mode.

How to start your computer in safe mode

Now find and delete this folder:

c:\program files\180solutions

Also in safe mode navigate to the C:\Windows\Temp folder. Open the Temp folder and go to Edit > Select All then Edit > Delete to delete the entire contents of the Temp folder.

Go to Start > Run and type %temp% in the Run box. The Temp folder will open. Click Edit > Select All then Edit > Delete to delete the entire contents of the Temp folder.

Finally go to Control Panel > Internet Options. On the General tab under "Temporary Internet Files" Click "Delete Files". Put a check by "Delete Offline Content" and click OK. Click on the Programs tab then click the "Reset Web Settings" button. Click Apply then OK.

Empty the Recycle Bin

Let's try it a little differently:

From your log it looks like you are still in safe mode. Boot out of safe mode. When you come back and post new logs from HJT you need to run the HJT scans in normal mode, not safe mode.

Double-click on Killbox.exe to run it. This time put a tick by Replace on Reboot. Under that also put a check in the box by Use Dummy. In the "Full Path of File to Delete" box, copy and paste each of the following lines one at a time then click on the button that has the red circle with the X in the middle after you enter each file. It will ask for confimation to delete the file on next reboot. Click Yes. It will then ask if you want to reboot now. Click No. Continue with that same procedure until you have copied and pasted all of these in the "Paste Full Path of File to Delete" box.

It keeps on re-hatching somehow. Arrrg!
Could it be in a backup log or something?
perhaps I should try this unconnected to the Internet lan?

I am attaching a wineto.zip file to this post. Downlod it and unzip it to your desktop.

Download and install APM from: http://www.diamondcs.com.au/index.php?page=apm
save it to your desktop you'll need it later.

Copy these instructions to notepad. Sign off the internet and remain offline until the entire procedure is complete.

Now run the APM program
In the upper window select C:\Windows\explorer.exe

In the lower window find and rightclick this file:

C:\WINDOWS\system32\W8C6S4~2.DLL (This is not the full file name. It will be the only dll that begins with W8C6S4.

Select Unload DLL and click OK on the prompts that follow.

Do the same with this file:
pvmpumhiesrm5bll.dll.dll.dll.dll.dll.dll.dll.dll.dll.dll.dll.dll.dll.dll.dl l.dll.dll.dll.dll.dll.dll.dll.dll.dll.dll.dll.dll.dll.dll.dll.dll.dll.dll.d ll.dll.dll.dll.dll.dll.dll.dll.dll.dll.dll.dll.dll.dll.dll.dll.dll
or whatever file is currently listed in the O20 line in Hijack This. It may have changed.

Double-click on Killbox.exe to run it. Now put a tick by Delete on Reboot. In the "Full Path of File to Delete" box, copy and paste each of the following lines one at a time then click on the button that has the red circle with the X in the middle after you enter each file. It will ask for confimation to delete the file on next reboot. Click Yes. It will then ask if you want to reboot now. Click No.

C:\WINDOWS\system32\W8C6S4~2.DLL

Exit the Killbox.

Run Hijack This again and fix any of these entries that are left. Some may/should be gone:

Well it didnt work.
heres whats happening though. When I used APM on the first file it goes through all the prompts like it should but then, explorer shuts down and i am propted to send an error report. I click no then exlporer reboots and there is a window that says "done!". Afterwards in APM, even when explorer is highlighted in the top window, there is nothing in the bottom window. I refresh APM then the bottom window appears full again when explorer is highlighted but the dll i just unloeaded is back again. I then noticed that the dlfgs2g4t5kbkbll.dll.dll.dll.dll.dll.dll.dll.dll.dll.dll.dll.dll.dll.dll.dll.dll.dll.dll.dll.dll.dll.dll.dll.dll.dll.dll.dll.dll.dll.dll.dll.dll.dll.dll.dll.dll.dll.dll.dll.dll.dll.dll.dll.dll.dll.dll.dll.dll.dll.dll.dll.dll.dll.dll.dll file is in many of the procceses running. When I tried to unload it there it crashed my comp. i figure becasue it closes needed services in that proccess.

can i ask why the registry entry is there, i put it on my deasktop but it dissapears. am i supoossed to merge it?

Sorry. Yes you were supposed to merge the reg file with the registry. I left that out. My bad! :eek:

Wow it worked. Great thanx. You have to edit the file "pvmpumhiesrm5bll.dll.dll.dll.dll.dll.dll.dll.dll.dll.dl l.dll.dll.dll.dll.dl l.dll.dll.dll.dll.dll.dll.dll.dll.dll.dll.dll.dll.dll.dll.dll.dll.dll.dll.d ll.dll.dll.dll.dll.dll.dll.dll.dll.dll.dll.dll.dll.dll.dll.dll.dll" after pasting it into killbox becasue not all the .dll were the same for some reason. For example,
it looked like .dlL .dl l .dL l .dll. do this and make sure that the files name appears blue underneath and it will work.

Now turn off System Restore:

On the Desktop, right-click My Computer.
Click Properties.
Click the System Restore tab.
Check Turn off System Restore.
Click Apply, and then click OK.

Restart your computer, turn System Restore back on and create a restore point.

To create a restore point:

Single-click Start and point to All Programs.
Mouse over Accessories, then System Tools, and select System Restore.
In the System Restore wizard, select the box next the text labeled "Create a restore point" and click the Next button.
Type a description for your new restore point. Something like "After trojan/spyware cleanup". Click Create and you're done.

Check this out for info on how to tighten your security settings and some good free tools to help prevent this from happening again.
