Welcome to TSG! :)

First run this uninstaller to get rid of the peper.a trojan:

http://www.zerosrealm.com/downloads/uninst.exe

*Note: Just click on the uninst.exe and let it run. When it is finished it will just close. There will be no dialogue. Also you must be connected to the internet for the uninstaller to be effective.

Now run Hijack This again and put a check by these. Close all windows except HijackThis and click "Fix checked"

Somewhere along the line you picked up a new one.

First please do this:

Navigate to the C:\Windows\system32 folder and locate the apiperft.exe file. Right click it and choose "Send to compressed (zipped) folder". The zipped folder will appear there in the System32 folder. Attach a copy of that zipped folder and send it to me here. Please include a link to this thread so I'll remember where it came from.

This file may be hidden so click on My Computer. Go to Tools > Folder Options. Click on the View tab and make sure that "Show hidden files and folders" is checked. Also uncheck "Hide protected operating system files" and "Hide extensions for known file types" . Now click "Apply to all folders"
Click "Apply" then "OK"

Now run Hijack This again and put a check by these. Close all windows except HijackThis and click "Fix checked"

O2 - BHO: (no name) - {000020DD-C72E-4113-AF77-DD56626C6C42} - (no file)

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [apiperft] C:\WINDOWS\System32\apiperft.exe

Restart to safe mode and delete:

The C:\WINDOWS\System32\apiperft.exe file

Also I highly recommend that you go to Windows update and install all "Critical Updates and Service Packs". This will patch numerous security holes in IE and Windows.
