Hi, Whatever the problem is, I don't see it in your log.

Except for these entries> see below and do NOT repeat do NOT fix anything....I am only "supposing" right now...

O17 - HKLM\System\CCS\Services\Tcpip\..\{557D9723-1192-4BA7-8059-EB3648FB6C2D}: NameServer = 69.50.188.180 195.225.176.31
O17 - HKLM\System\CS1\Services\Tcpip\..\{557D9723-1192-4BA7-8059-EB3648FB6C2D}: NameServer = 69.50.188.180 195.225.176.31

They look very similar to a thread I saw yesterday-
I have seen this one time, and seen flrman1 tell a poster that this (or entries that were similar) is a malware, but I cannot find the exact thread where he helped with it...still looking for that...please, do NOT attempt to fix anything with HJT yourself...until he comes by to advise you!!!!!

This is not uncommon, however an antivirus scan with a good program like Panda should at least detect it...might not be able to fix it, but it should find it.
So should AdAware or SpyBot--I wonder if you have the latest versions of those?

AdAware SE personal edition (free one) v. 1.05

SpyBot Search and Destroy v. 1.3

Older versions should be uninstalled, they will no longer be updating those and they will do you no good.

Here are locations and directions for above:

Go here and download Adaware SE.

Install the program and launch it.

First in the main window look in the bottom right corner and click on Check for updates now then click Connect and download the latest reference files.

From main window :Click Start then under Select a scan Mode tick Perform full system scan.

Next deselect Search for negligible risk entries.

Now to scan just click the Next button.

When the scan is finished mark everything for removal and get rid of it.(Right-click the window and choose select all from the drop down menu and click Next)

Restart your computer.

Then go here and download Spybot Search & Destroy.

Install the program and launch it.

Before scanning press Online and Search for Updates .

Put a check mark at and install all updates.

Click Check for Problems and when the scan is finished let Spybot fix/remove all it finds marked in RED.

Restart your computer.

Come back here and post another Hijack This log .
If you have those and have them updated etc....post a new log just to see if it has shown up now.

i downloaded spybot and then fixed what was marked in red.
i made a new hijackthis log, but its the same. i also think that the O17 - HKLM... are the two pricks, since i havent seen them in previous hijackthis scans.

Hi, I had a reply from flrman1, which said that your entries are not quite the same thing

He also gave the location of that thread- take a look, the hijack he was fixing there is not what you have, but similar:

http://forums.techguy.org/showthread.php?t=320686&page=1&pp=15

He advised fixing those two entries with HJT: Close all other windows when you do fix them:

O17 - HKLM\System\CCS\Services\Tcpip\..\{557D9723-1192-4BA7-8059-EB3648FB6C2D}: NameServer = 69.50.188.180 195.225.176.31
O17 - HKLM\System\CS1\Services\Tcpip\..\{557D9723-1192-4BA7-8059-EB3648FB6C2D}: NameServer = 69.50.188.180 195.225.176.31

And reboot the computer...

You can post a new log...we will see if anything new is there.

Hi, I had a reply from flrman1, which said that your entries are not quite the same thing
He also gave the location of that thread- take a look, the hijack he was fixing there is not quite the same, but similar
http://forums.techguy.org/showthread.php?t=320686&page=1&pp=15

He advised fixing those two entries with HJT: Close all other windows when you do fix them:

O17 - HKLM\System\CCS\Services\Tcpip\..\{557D9723-1192-4BA7-8059-EB3648FB6C2D}: NameServer = 69.50.188.180 195.225.176.31
O17 - HKLM\System\CS1\Services\Tcpip\..\{557D9723-1192-4BA7-8059-EB3648FB6C2D}: NameServer = 69.50.188.180 195.225.176.31

And reboot the computer...

You can post a new log...we will see if anything new is there.
You were NOT to do or run anything that he had in that other thread, only what I posted above, for your two entries. I see they are gone, so you did fix the, that is good.
You can get in serious trouble using tools that are not meant for your specific problem> please follow directions given to you. I do not see anything else to do in your new log.

But, lets clean temp files:

flrman1 said:
Because XP will not always show you hidden files and folders by default, Go to Start > Search>Files and Folders>> and under "More advanced search options".
Make sure there is a check by "Search System Folders" and "Search hidden files and folders" and "Search system subfolders"

Next click on My Computer. Go to Tools > Folder Options. Click on the View tab and make sure that "Show hidden files and folders" is checked. Also uncheck "Hide protected operating system files" and "Hide extensions for known file types" . Now click "Apply to all folders"
Click "Apply" then "OK"

Also in safe mode navigate to the C:\Windows\Temp folder. Open the Temp folder and go to Edit > Select All then Edit > Delete to delete the entire contents of the Temp folder.

Go to Start > Run and type %temp% in the Run box, and OK. The Temp folder will open. Click Edit > Select All then File > Delete to delete the entire contents of the Temp folder.
Finally go to Control Panel > Internet Options. On the General tab under "Temporary Internet Files" Click "Delete Files". Put a check by "Delete Offline Content" and click OK.
After that-

Run scans with Adaware SE and SpyBot to see if they detect anything. Post a fresh log from Hijackthis, please.

Hi, Well, I don't see anything else

Can you give the filenames and the locations they were in that Panda found? Might have a report or results list you can check...post what it says. The two items can be fixed again, might leave for good if they were related to the two files: Have all other windows closed, fix these:

O17 - HKLM\System\CCS\Services\Tcpip\..\{557D9723-1192-4BA7-8059-EB3648FB6C2D}: NameServer = 69.50.188.180 195.225.176.31

O17 - HKLM\System\CS1\Services\Tcpip\..\{557D9723-1192-4BA7-8059-EB3648FB6C2D}: NameServer = 69.50.188.180 195.225.176.31

Restart and scan again with Hijackthis, are they still showing?

Hi, Well, one thing I can definitely help you with> DSO Exploit- Spybot has a small bug or glitch that causes it to be found each scan. You can simply and safely ignore this, or there is an updated main executable file for SpyBot you can get that fixes the issue. You do not need to do anything, and you can exclude DSO Exploit locally within SpyBot settings...let me know what you wish to do.
Hopefully flrman1 will be back online later this evening and help you with the hijack. There are several other tools he may have you try then.

Hi, Seems it is hitting something in the Registry, as we can see the items do load from there...

I would NOT advise to try to delete anything from the Registry just yet. That is an option of course for later.

Also- I mixed up a reply, the VX2 items are in another thread, so I will remove that...it was not supposed to be here...sorry.

Hi, No, sorry, I don't know what the items are...and if they just keep coming back and are the reason for the problem you have, I guess it would be the brave thing to do to have you edit them out of the Regisitry.
I may have asked you this already, but can you run AdAware from Safe Mode? We see the freeze up problems often, there was an early release of SE that did cause freezing, do you suppose you could have that? I would strongly suggest that you download a new copy of AdAware SE personal edition v. 1.05> and uninstall the older copy you have first then install the new one.

Make sure you download the new one, before you uninstall the old. You may have had AdAware installed and not downloaded from my link> it is confusing I know, but there was a version released at one time, that had a small problem...installing a new copy may be what you need to do. Something may also have happened to the download...we see it all the time-

Using Hijackthis is suposed to remove those entires from the registry. But it looks like something is putting them back in right away. I see you have Messenger Plus2 installed.

I would uninstall it. If you installed the Sponsor, it adds spyware.

then after you do that, use Hijackthis to fix any reamining MessengerPlus2 entries and thsoe two 017's again. Restart the computer. Connect tothe Internet and run Hijackthis. Post your new log.

I think this may be a redo of something recent involving Webcheck.dll

They may have changed the filename they are using so I need to see a Startuplist and them you can continue with the rest of the instructions.

*****In Hijackthis press the Config Button
Click Misc Tools
Check both boxes under the Generate StartupList log and then click the generate startuplist log button.

Paste the contents of the Startuplist.txt file into your next reply here, please.

Next:

Go to Start>Run and paste in this command and then press enter:
regsvr32 webcheck.dll

Look for this file and delete it:
msvcrta.dll

*** This is why we need the startuplist. msvcrta.dll may not be there and another file may be. Startuplist will show us that. But only if you run it BEFORE you do the regsvr32 webcheck.dll

Be careful to look at that name carefully. There are many files named similarly.
Run hijackthis and if you see those 017 entries, fix them again.

Now this one part of your nameServer looks maybe legit:
195.225.176.31

But the one before the comma is not. So let's see what happens. IF you have a problem, just restore the 017's using using the Hijackthis Backups tool and I'll help you edit the registry directly to rmove just the one and leave the other.

I take it you are in Europe?

Here is what Whois says. Does this look like your Internet Service Provider?
