I'm running Vista and my iPod is an 80gb classic. Earlier today I formatted it to NTFS so I could store a couple of +4gb video files on it, without realising it would fubar the entire OS and that my blu-ray player doesn't even recognise NTFS anyway. Everything stored on my ipod is backed up so I have no reservations about losing any data, if that is what this process will ultimately result in.

Did you try and format back to FAT32 using the same process you used to format to NTFS
