i would like to know if its possible to connect my IDE 3.5 hard drive to the IDE cable from the motherboard that goes to the dvd player this motherbaord is SATA2 ..

ok ill try it . let you know in a bit ,
i just didnt want to screw anything up on this new machien of mine.. im running SATA2 now and no ide connections except for the DVD player ..

yepp it worked with no problems .
i just plugged it in and fireup the machine and it dectected the IDE hard drive .
