Hi,
I downloaded an open source program that runs on the Java platform. It is supposed to load when I double click it, however, it is a jar file that is apparently associated with PowerArchiver. That program opens and lists the files to be unzipped instead of running the program.
I tried associating the file type with java, but this doesn't do anything. (Windows Explorer>Tools>Folder Options>File Types>JAR and chose java: in the drop down list). I am running Windows XP Home, and the JRE is Sun 1.5.0.
I can get the program to run using the command prompt, but I would like to be able to just click it and run it or somehow make a desktop icon that would run it.
I emailed the author of the program and he said that Java should open it when I double click on it, that maybe something on my system has changed that protocol. Any ideas?
Thanks,
ThaBrudda
