I've got hundreds(a few years) of IE shortcuts, organized in folders. All are from Desktop shortcuts created while on different websites. How is a person to use these shortcuts in Firefox? I'd sure hate to import all these and add to Bookmarks. It's crowded in there already. That reminds me. Is there a FF equivalent to a desktop shortcut? How is it made? Thanks.

This may not work but with the shortcuts, if you right-click on one of them, click 'properties' and under the 'general' tab it will ask you what program you with to be the default to open that type of file. Choose 'firefox.exe'. The default location should be: C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox ('C' being your main drive). Click apply. This should work but I'm not sure how the bookmark file works exactly.

In terms of a Firefox shortcut on the desktop, find your firefox.exe again in default: C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox ('C' being your main drive). Right-click on the icon and choose 'send to' and select 'Desktop (create shortcut)'. Furthermore, if you wish to change this desktop icon to a start bar button at any time, you can simply drag the icon onto the start bar and it will be moved there, in the form of a button.

Good luck

Sitb, thanks for the info. I think that will work for the shortcuts. Sure is a lot of files to change. But, if I have to I will.
What I was refering to on the Desktop shortcut was making one from a webpage to the desktop. In IE, right click and "Create Shortcut". Don't have that option with FF.
Maybe I need to go back and surf thru the Extensions some more and see if anybody's made one for that. Thanks for the help.

Very ease fix. Made FF default and everything opens with it. (duh.) Why are the simple things the hardest to figure out? Also, the extensions are fantastic. Nearly every add on you can think of. Thanks
