I recently upgraded to Windows Me, now all .exe files I have downloaded return an error stating that the program file has created an error in the program.exe file and will now close. Also other downloaded files return error messages of the startup file is corrupt or CRC errors. I have run simm tests and my memory is good and have increased the buffer size in the system control panel for receiving files. Any other ideas?
It would be a good idea to run an updated antivirus scan if the above is not the issue. Hope that you don't have "spaces" or any other boot sector virus.
You say this happened after you upgraded to Win ME. I am wondering if you have the correct drivers installed for your Modem or if you have an ethernet card? You are having bad Downloads. Could this be the reason? The Upgrade?
Thanks for the Help! It turned out I had a Virus left over in memory from Windows 98.
Regards
