Hello to all,

First, please forgive the title for this post. I just don't really know how to label it, but I am having problems viewing files that I have placed on a dvd. Here is the note that I left for tech support at Sonic.

I installed RecordNow 9. As such, I can no longer view files that I created on a dvd disk. I can also no longer format any type of disk. My drive does not appear to recognize any dvd disk with copied files, but I can view dvd movies. I have restored my system to an earlier date, but did not uninstall RN9. When I attempt to view the files on the dvd disk with RecordNow 7, I receive a message that the disk is in use by DLA. I also do see that the disk in question is appendable, but I can't see the files as I used to. I am at my wits end. Please help. Thanks in advance.

I would really appreciate any assistance in this matter. Y'all usually give better advice than the manufacturer. I really do appreciate the knowledge. Thanks in advance

First I would try to configure RN9 to reconize the files in question through the HELP options, if that doesnt work then,..,.
Try uninstalling RN9 then rolling the computer back to when you could view the fiiles in question.
If this works then dont use RN9.

If it aint broke dont fix it...

What I have done so far is to restore the system to an earlier point and delete, (not uninstall), RN9 files from my drive, respectively. I am now using RN7, which was already installed on my system. RN7 acknowledges that the disk is appendable, but I can see the files. I did however copy the files onto another disk. Consequently, I can't see those files either.

My D drive is configured as DVD Ram. However, when I place the disk in question in the drive, the icon changes to CD. Based on what I see at this point, I don't think that the disk is corrupt, and I don't want to give up hope. What am I missing?

Thanks for the response.

Just to close out this topic, I would like to thank everyone for their help. While I don't know what caused the problem that I was having, I downloaded software that enabled me to recover the files that were on the affected dvd disk. Thank God! Please feel free to reply if you would like information on the product. Otherwise, consider this subject closed.

Thanks again.
