My guess...faulty LCD cable. However you can try reinstalling the graphics driver, but seeing as they are not on an external monitor then its not likely a driver issue. whats make and model number of the computeR?? Does it go away or change when you move the screen back and forth?? BTW if the PrntScrn is what you have uploaded THERE are lines in it.

Ok...my advice is to replace the LCD screen cable. Seeing as you ONLY have it on the screen its more than likely the issue and you can normally get a replacement from Ebay for under 20 bucks. Just make sure you MATCH your part number against the replacement.

Took off front panel - found that the video cable that comes from the screen was not pushed sufficiently into the socket on the main body of laptop

All Done !!

:D
