In Disk Management (Windows XP), I accidentally (and I admit, stupidly) in the lower section of the right pane removed the drive letter of a CD-ROM drive, so that while ‘CD-ROM 1' still shows in the list, its space to the right(where the drive id, file type, size & condition would normally show) is blank. Is there a way to get this drive back?
Thanks,
Ken

First thing to try

Restore PC to an Earlier Date & Time

Go Start>>All Programs>>Accessories>>System Tools>>System Restore

  • Click in the radio button Restore My Computer to An Earlier Time
  • Click Next
  • Pick a Date in Dark Blue only (pick a date to before you installed All-In-One)
  • Click Next
  • Then Next again.
This should restore the PC to that time & date

It will update and restart

I don't know why I didn't think of that. I use 'set a restore point' frequently, even have an link on my desktop to automatically do it. All I had to do was go back to a point earlier today!
Thanks very much for your help!
