I've had a couple of monitors—both HPs—that I don't know if they've gone bad or if I'm just in stupid mode. When I turn them on, the power light is green for a few seconds then turns orange—as if in power saver mode. But the thing is, I just hooked these monitors up and turned them on, they haven't been sitting on for any time. Anyone have any thoughts?

usually when the led goes orange is indication no video signal.
when you turn on with them unplugged to a computer they will
do exactly as you describe.

are they plugged in to a computer? is the computer on?
do you know that the computer and video card works?

are you using a detachable monitor cord to hook to pc
that might be bad? a monitor extension cable? a kvm switch?

I'm in stupid mode. I did have one monitor that had that problem but yesterday,...well, I was the idiot. The tower had a second video port that I hadn't noticed—I just hooked up to what I thought was the obvious port. Forest...trees... you know the story.
