I need to change Win2k Drive letter's around but i cant actually get into windows to do it. Does anyone know one of those boot up things that can do this?

Windows won't start properly because windows was installed on d: but something has changed it to c: so i need to swap them back around.

You don't seem to have much choice. If you don't understand the following please ask.
You have 2 ide cables.1 is Primary and 1 is secondary.
Connect the one for Windows installation to Primary master, thats the end of the cable, usually reads as C
Connect your 2nd hd as secondary master,
thats the end of the cable.Usually reads as D
Use the others for cd drives.E and F
Windows is best suited on C:
Be sure to unplug the power supply completely. first

It's a veriton 3200 it has 2 cables sure but they only have 2 connectors each (mobo to device) so i can only have my hd and cd-rom. Im not sure wat i can do about this but if anyone knows how i can add more of such devices that would be great.

Oh and i ended up formatting and installing WinXP Home though 1 hour later it stuffed up and i repeated the process but it's running fine now (about time too).

Luckily using 2k boot disks i repaired 2k(to a degree) before formatting and managed to get some important stuff i couldnt re-download or install from cd.

You could have just simply:

1. Told BIOS to boot off that D: drive.
2. Booted into Safe Mode.
3. Used XP's Computer Management tool to switch the drive letters on next boot.

1. This was using 2kPRo at the time.
2. Couldnt get into safe mode it would not start up properly.
3. Cannot change to another drive in the bios ive tryed a million times.

What i needed to do was swtich drive letters so windows wouldnt get confused something had switched d: with c: and seen as d: was where the original installation was i got that Repetitive login problem.

As for safe mode all it did was show the black screen with safe mode drawn in the corners it did not load up the desktop or allow me to do anything like ctrl+alt+del so i could run explorer.

If this is a system drive letter, it is an involved process to change it. In addition you must be able to boot the system. In this case, I would boot with your win2k cd and do a repair install of the system. Most likely since this was installed on D originally, the boot files were on the C drive in the system.

Another option is to repair the boot files manually using the RC.

I did a repair but well.... it really didn't repair much but i was able to get in and backup things i needed.

Afterwards i formatted and installed xp, 1 hour later i had to repair xp from boot up disks because doing it from inside windows using cd it would not accept my key :S luckily it repaired without problems and running fine now.
