I don't remember when it happened. But this is the current situation:

http://img196.imageshack.us/img196/8228/51296263.jpg

Specs:
http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a387/GbeTech/Compspecs2.gif?t=1250505503

Further explanation: I've set 1 virtual drive with Daemon Tools, which should be shown in My computer, but isn't. Also my two hardware CD/DVD Drives aren't recognized, and when I put discs in it, nothing shows up (I can't burn as well).

Seems like a simple fix, I just don't know what those exclamation marks mean.

Thanks!

Have you tried right clicking and clicking on "update driver"?
Yes, a wizard pops up.
I have the CD's that came with the drives but unfortunately they are not identified. Which leaves me one option, and it's downloading drivers off the internet.

I've downloaded a firmware update for my main drive (Samsung TSSTcorp SH-s182m), it's a .exe file, I run it... and nothing happens.
By main drive I mean that one that wasn't defected even before the problem, since my other one (NEC) couldn't function properly months ago.

Ok thanks for trying and the free bump...

Running the NEC firmware update gives me an error message saying that the target could not be found.
They are not found in My Computer.

Clicking "Properties" on the two devices (NEC and Samsung drives) gives me this:

Code:
Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39)
Also a virtual drive with DT doesn't show up.

I don't think it's a driver problem, but something more general.

Help?

You might try this fix by JohnWill:

Fix for missing DVD/CD drives.

Create a text file with NOTEPAD containing the following data exactly as below and name it FIXCD.REG
You should have 3 boxes on the bottom in NOTEPAD.
1)Filename : fixcd.reg
2)Save as type: all files
3)Encoding: ANSI
If you do not change it from txt type to All files type, then the file will actually be fixcd.reg.txt, this won't accomplish the desired result

Double click on the file and say yes to the merge into registry question.

----------------------- Use text after this line, contents of FIXCD.REG -----------------------------
REGEDIT4

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}]
"UpperFilters"=-
"LowerFilters"=-

[-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Cdr4_2K]

[-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Cdralw2k]

[-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Cdudf]

[-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\UdfReadr]
------------------------------ Use text before this line --------------------------------

Have you checked to see if there are any more problem mrkers? Could also be a problem with the IDE ATA/ATAPI Controllers drivers and not the devide drivers.
