I have a Dell Inspiron E1505 with windows xp. My cd/dvd burner driver is no longer showing up when I double click my computer. When I go into device mgr under disk drives this what I find-Fujitsu MVH2040BH. When I go into the bios under the system devices-modular bay devices is set to none. I have tried the registry trick with upper/lower filters but did not work. The device does open/close. Does anyone else have any other ideas.

Sounds like a hardware issue. Did you remove and reinsert it? Do you have any other device, like a floppy, to test the bay with?

This issue is with my laptop. I do not have a floppy drive that I can swap out and test the bay. The drive will open/close with no issues. I tried to play a dvd through media center, it would not detect a dvd. I have not added any hardware to my laptop.
