Solved: Can't use ALL CAPS?

I ran into a strange problem when trying to post an entry in the "A to Z of computer terms" game at:

http://forums.techguy.org/thread-games-arcade-discussion/728665-z-computer-items-31.html

I typed in "D = DRAM" in all caps (without the quotes) as my entry but it showed up as "D = dram". I could not edit it either to make it all caps.

DRAM :D

FWIW, I just went and edited your post to see if it's a universal or thread issue, it changed just fine.

I have no idea what's going on there.
Maybe Mods are given extra powers to post in all caps.
TESTING D = DRAM as someone who's not a mod. "Preview post" tells me it will work, but will it?
Ohhhh, but if you post only in caps, it'll convert it. I typed this entire message in caps, but preview post tells me i'm going to be out of luck.
That would cut down on all the shouting

Note, I type the first line in ALL caps to shout the message and then edite it to add this note
Ohhhh, but if you post only in caps, it'll convert it.
I guess that solves my mystery. Thank you. :)
You're right, never even noticed that effect. This is in all caps!
What's everyone always got to be yelling at each other? ;)
I guess that explains the problem with the grin smiley not working if there's no other text as the capital D gets converted to a small d.

So that is by design Mike? :)
Bad design. If I want caps, I type CAPS, I don't need "smart" software making decisions for me.
John calm thy self :D
Yup, it's by design. I'm pretty sure it was designed with John in mind.

Can you add something to convert posts from new members that have to play with the font settings into normal text?
LOL -- the problem is that it's a little subjective. Maybe just limit the size?
Limiting the font size could help for both extremes. Almost went blind trying to read one detailed description of a new member's problem with the font size set to 1.

Touché! :D:p

I usually just ask them to repost leaving the default font to make it more readable. I figure if they want help they can do a little work themselves. ;)
I think you should limit the use of the edit functions like you do PM's, wait until they've been here for a few posts. :) Probably the same people that use junk like Incredimail to send very annoying email messages. ;)
