Suddenly I cant enter text on any site when using IE. All other programs work (Word, Excel, etc) including AOL IM. I can also type into the search bar on my Google toolbar. But i cannot click on or enter text into anything in the body of IE. I can click links and nagivate pages, just cant enter text (obviously i'm now using another computer - cause I cant use that one now!). The computer is not booted up right now, but I'm pretty sure it's IE 6.0. Also, tried to go to MS and load IE updates, but nothing seemed to happen.

Any Ideas?

This will fit on a floppy, Download Hijackthis.
Save it to a folder on your hard drive.
Unzip the file.
Scan your machine, then click on Save Log.

Post a copy back here and someone will be happy to review it.

Don't make any changes until instructed to do so.

Download and run CWShredder. Problems with forms in IE are often the result of the presence of CooWebSearch.

If that fixes it, you should then be able to post the Hijack This log from the computer with the problem...which you should do to get help to remove any other spyware gremlins infesting it.

Actually, i hadn't run CW Shredder yet. I do regularly run Adaware and Spybot S&D.

Since my first post I have now lost communication with my wireless router (just on this one Dell laptop) and can't connect with IE (or AOL IM) at all. The icon on my task bar shows a strong connection with the router, but i get the "server not found" page when i try to connect. It seems as if some settings have gotten changed.

I have 4 computers sharing a netgear wireless "b" router (model MR314). Ive had it over a year with no problems. A month ago I got a Toshiba Satellite laptop for my wife and since day one I've had problems keeping it connected to the network. After a period of time (10 minutes to 2 hours) it disconnects from the network - and when it does all computers currently on are also disconnected. For the last year I've NEVER had this happen with this router - until I got the Toshiba. I've made a dozen calls to Toshiba tech help in the last month and we've done everything from unplug 2.4 gig phones, to update wireless card drivers to checking all the internal settings, etc, etc, etc. with no luck. The latest was to download and install an update for my Netgear router (since I've had it about 16 months there were updates available). After the router update the Toshiba still disconnects from the internet(of course), but now my Dell (the one I'm writing about here) first started acting up in IM (couldn't type info), and now wont connect at all. I still have 2 OTHER computers that can connect to the wireless router with no problem - so I'm not convinced that the router update caused the problem with the Dell...

I have since run CW Shredder. It didn't come up with anything. I connected the Dell laptop via hardwire directly to my router (since something's up with the wireless all of a sudden). No change. I can navigate in IE, click on links and go from page to page, but I cannot click on any area that has a place for text. I click on the area, but i do not get a blinking curser and can't enter text.

Did you turn on immunize with spybot? If not do you know where these came from?

Yes, I had turned on the immunize feature. I have disabled it. The "CSPS" entry from the hijack log is from a network at work. I originally used this laptop at work and it was configured for their network.

Still no change. I cannot connect to my network using the wireless (although the icon on the taskbar shows a strong signal. And when I connect directly to the router with a network cable I can reach the internet, can navigate and can click on links, but cannot enter any text anywhere in IE.

After trying everything else (running Adaware, Sypbot, etc, uninstalling google toolbar, uninstalling McAfee firewall) i finally uninstalled and re-installed IE. Problem solved. I guess I should have done that a long time ago. Thanks for all of the assistance. I'm actually entering this message from the affected computer. First time I've been able to do that for many days now!!!
