Can't change default Monotor for higher Resolution in XP?
I have tryed Control Panel-Display-Settings-Advanced-Monitor Tab
and I find the monitor properties are grayed out and monitor settings
have no alternative choices.

Any suggestions?
Thank you,

How do I tell?
Under the adapters tap I have Adapter Info heading saying "unavailable"
In the properties I have "Non plug & Play"
The monitor is plugged into a motherboad video plug.
Thank you,

Muckmail:

Right-click MY COMPUTER, click Properties - Hardware - Device Manager, then click the + in

Display Adapters

What's listed for the description?

Click the "Driver" tab.

What's listed for the driver version and date?

Solved by putting new video card in the machine. I did not use the plug in on
the mother board. Allthough this problem is solved the computer still does
some odd things durring boot up.

If you installed a new video card, make sure to disable the old display adapter in the Device Manager - which will put a red X next to that entry.
