I have DSL through my telephone company. Had three computers running DSL via router (not wireless). Had an electrical storm... DSL would not work. Phone company checked line... replaced DSL modem with a router/modem combo. One PC would not hook up to Internet would just say opening page forever... that PC is being looked at by manufacturer because it is less than 30 days old. Another PC would hook up. Now that PC will not hook up to the internet... I get finding site it just sits there and ends in error. I purchased a new ethernet card for that PC thinking the other one was fried and still nto results. I put dial up on that PC and it works fine. Do you need a hijack log to advise? Thanks! Dial up sux!

Sounds like you still have the old router in place? . . since the modem is also a router, you will have to either replace the old router with a switch, or re configure the old router to not act as a DHCP server . . Do a search here for one of JohnWill's posts for full instructions.

Start with the basics, connect one machine with a known good cable and do some tests.

Open a DOS window and type:

IPCONFIG /ALL >C:RESULT.TXT

Open C:\RESULT.TXT with Notepad and copy/paste the entire results here.
