I'm looking for a new graphics card, around the $200-300 price range, or lower if possible, my friend has a Radeon 9600 XT and I like that, so I'd like to go with a Radeon of some sort. I'd like to be able to record stuff from my TV, and (if its possible) use my TV as a monitor, without loosing graphical performance if possible (I'm mainly a gamer, so speed is essential, and I'll deal to live without those last 2 requests if it gets me better graphics). For around that price range, what would you recommend?

Umm, it's a card. Just remember that the 9800's are getting out of date now, and are only on par with the Geforce 5's. That's alot of money to spend on a card that may not do what ya want shortly. If your set on it, then give www.pricewatch.com a look to make sure your getting a good deal.

9800 is better than a 9600 right? because my friend has a 9600 and everything looks really nice, so even if this card was just a little bit better than his, I'd be satisfied.

A 9800 Pro is better than a 9600 XT. It is still an upper end card, just not the meanest kid on the block anymore.

Neither is my X800XT PE. It is a battle to try to stay on top and I'll never be there. The 9800 will play just about any game decently.

6800gt-256 is more $400, i think the 6600gt are probably pretty close to the 98000pro level but the 6600 is newer tech. Your in a price range thats still kind of mid range. My first thought was the 9800pro too, take a look at the ATI X cards

Looks like the X800 are out of your range too

I don't need something absolutely great, I just need something that'll last a while and be good, hell I'd live with my friends 9600, but then I wouldn't be able to brag about my card being better then, would I?

I am trying to order a PIII power supply. But I can't find one. I need one that doesn't have the extra 4 Pin 12v connector.

Does anyone know of a site where I can get an older Power Supply like this. Or if I can use the P4 power supply and not use the 12v connector.

Don't you think you should make a new thread for this?

And thanks, I'm going to go with the AIW 9800 Pro.

Just don't use the extra plug, some Pentiums 4's don't even use it. It will work just fine.
