Hey guys, I've tried numerous times to update my AVG program, but it is in error state. What's causing it, it will not allow me to update any of my virus definitions and such. Is there any way to fix the problem? Any help here would be appreciated.

Which program do I use to open them? They're BIN files and I tried to open them with AVG, but my computer would not allow it to happen. What do I do now?

i cant find the instructions and no longer run AVG myself

You should copy them all into a folder
then i think theres a way to set AVG to manual update and point it to the directory
OR

there may be an update directory in the AVG set of folders
and AVG uses this to update each time its run

Since AVG is not in a real good operational state, should I uninstall it and reinstall it?

Well if it is not working, in a word YES . Uninstall, go to program files list and then the Grisoft/Avg entry and delete it. Reboot then reinstall.

Apparently that worked, I guess if anyone else has my exact problem, just do what I did and your good. Thank you very much for your help.:up:
