I just installed my new card Ati Radeon X1300 and it seems to work fine BUT when i play the game empire earth II The opening movie it kinda breaks up on the right side that section is slower then the rest but catches up. its like1/4of the right side stands still while the left 3/4 of the screen keeps playing then the right side catches up . Now the games play fine. I have a E-310 Dimension Pro,Windows XP , with added memory 1 G And new card before the new card i had on board express chip family and it didnt break up the game or movie .Also with the new card, my flat panel LCD Screen wont go into sleep mode since i hooked up to the card. I called Dell they just said the card is not supported by dell .So i called the LG Electronics about the flat panel they told me check with the ati radeon company you know the run around. Anyways if you got any clues for me, much appreciated
Thank You

It could very well be a defective card, though you should check your resolutions and all your display and performance settings for the games. Play other games, and if things don't seem normal, such as textures stretching and spidering/starring out or anything of that sort, then chances are that your card is defective. You should be able to return it for a new one. If things seem to be doing the same things, then just check back here.

Like I said before, check everything else first. Returning the card should be a last resort.

Thanks for the info this is the second X1300 I've or trying. I figured out the monitor sleep mode problem instead of hooking up to the VGA out I hooked up to the DVI now the monitor will go in to sleep mode. Now far as the game empire earth and the 1/4 of the screen freezing up while the left side 3/4 of the screen videos on. Then the 1/4 right side catches up , its only in the movie part of the beginning . Now i did try a ATI Radeon 9250
with 128 MB, And it didnt have any problems except under shader modeling & memory. So
I''m gonna stick with the X1300 I can live with the movie split, Hopefully its correctible
My problem is i dont know sheet About pixil and Shader and all the jargon that the Ati's Catalyst Control Center, Where i can adjust displays . Do you know where i can get any readable manuals on this jargon,You know a quik reference. HA HA DOT TO DOT PLEASE.
Thankyou.

Sigh... Dell is STILL making new computers with NO graphic upgradable slots?! I thought they would have STOP doing that with PCIe... I see from a screen shot, its only a 1x PCIe slot which is used for pretty much nothing. Gee, its only a 5cent part!

This is WHY I tell people to get HPaqs for low-end systems - THEY do include AGP (used to) and PCIe 16x slots... even their low-end $300 systems.

Sorry for he issues you're having and the limitation. Its things like this that give PC Gaming a bad name.

YEA I am really starting to wonder about dell but than there in the job of asking you what you want it for, Than they pretty much build it . So if you buy one make sure you tell them exactly wht your game is. Also i didnt have a clue of what i was buying so I'm just learning about all this. gotta blame my self for not doing my homework quess i was just thrilled to get a computer. Thank you all for the help. :) Kudos :)

No, its not quite your fault. You bought a PC with expansion slots - otherwise you could get an even smaller system without any expansion slots.

The POINT of expansion slots is for UPGRADABILITY... but just so Dell can save a few pennies and then charge an extra $10~50 for a proper PCIe 16x slot - they screw their customers. And that even includes business who may want to upgrade a business computer for more monitors or better quality output or to replace a failed or damaged video part (Since most business Dells have VGA, rather than DVI ports).

Good luck... but replacement of the whole system is required.
