I've been trying to burn a folder containing 4.5 GB of Data to a 4.7 GB DVD +R Disc. However I keep getting the message ' Incorrect Disc pls. insert a DVD R DL Disc ... or there is insufficient space on the disc.'

The status bar that shows the volume of data to be copied, is blue ... ie it does not go to the red part, indicating excessive capacity.

I have also tried using WinRAR to make a compressed folder ... though the size of this was reduced to 4.3 Gig, I still get the same error message.

The data is all in one folder, there is no multi level directory that the pc can't handle, nor is it dual layer.

Googling the error message actually brought up a link to Ashampoo's FAQs ... though the only reference on the page to 'insufficient disc space' referred to the Hard Disk, which is not the problem in this instance

Anyone have suggestions how I can get this done ?

Thanks for any assistance.

I solved this issue.

Having seen the thread on this page about creating a disc image :

http://forums.techguy.org/all-other-software/528797-makeing-cd-image.html

I tried CDBurnerXP.

Attempting to burn with this, indicated that there was approx 200 MB too much data.

Simply moving that amount, enabled me to do the job.

For anyone interested, it is a decent program. Time taken to burn the DVD 8 min 30 secs.
