I installed Norton Internet Security this weekend, ran LiveUpdate, and did a full system scan. The output showed that there are some "Non Viral" risks on my system - all Adware products. Unfortunately, the program isn't fixing these problems, just reporting them. Can anyone identify them from the log below? Your help is much appreciated!!

I tried to run the new Hijack this and it ended with the following windows error screen: "HijackThis has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience." I tried to run it about 5 times and got that message every time.

Here is the list of threats that Norton Internet Virus Scan found but didn't fix.....

WhistleHelp
Ipinsight
MoeMoney
Hotbar
Incredifind
Binet
Look2Me

Also, I didn't receive an email when you responded - only looked back at the website to see if there was any activity. What do I need to do to make sure I receive an email each time I get a response?

Thanks!
Nancy

You need to subscribe to the thread, look at the top of the page under Thread Tools. If it shows you as being subscribed perhaps the e-mail that went out got bounced back causing you to be subscribed but no e-mails will be sent. You can unsubscribe then subscirbe again but if your e-mail gets bounced again the same thing will happen. What e-mail source are you using? Hotmail, yahoo, etc...

Download Adaware SE http://lavasoft.element5.com/software/adaware/

Install the program and launch it.

First in the main window look in the bottom right corner and click on Check for updates now then click Connect and download the latest reference files.

From main window: Click Start then under Select a scan Mode tick Perform full system scan.

Next deselect Search for negligible risk entries.

Now to scan just click the Next button.

When the scan is finished mark everything for removal and get rid of it.(Right-click the window and choose select all from the drop down menu and click Next)

Reboot and post another HJT log for review.

I downloaded Adaware SE (had the old one, but replaced it). Removed all suggested files.

When I try to run the new Hijack this, it ends with the following windows error screen: "HijackThis has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience." I have tried to run it many times and get that message every time.

Any suggestions about HijackThis?

Thanks,
Nancy

I tried to use the one that was attached to this thread, but it was giving me the error message I mentioned earlier. In an effort to fix the problem, I went to the website for HJT and downloaded the version that they offered. What is the version of the new one? Where can I get it besides the attachment in this thread (which didn't work even though I saved it twice from the thread). Have you heard of anyone else having trouble with it?

So, you're saying that I don't need to remove anything from my registry or files at this time?

Thank you very much!
Nancy
