Solved: Acer Net Book screen

901 Views 6 Replies 3 Participants Last post by  DaveBurnett
Only this morning all was well with resolution.i had to recharge it for the battery was low and i got that warning of it. Later in the day, I opened it up with the ac cord still attached and i noticed immediately that the screen was not at its brightest. Usually with the ac cord the pc would be brighter, and dimmer when its removed. Is there something wrong with my net book?

Check the power settings. Look under Dim he display and see how long it is set to dim when plugged in.
If it is 1, 2 or 3 hours then the dimness was due to this setting.

I never messed around with dimness or any other resolution control. Just where is this area your talking about where it offers dim in win 7?
Control Panel, Power Options, Balanced probably is selected. Click the link Change plan settings and see what is selected aside of Dim the display.
OOps..I found it but on my desktop not able to use the net book cause it so dim...bad for my eyes...the thing is I never messed around with power options, so why now all of a sudden.
BTW, I did not see anything referring to Dim on the desktop display options..,most likely only on lap tops and net books..I'll check it out. Thanks

Problem gone. I went to power option and there is a sliding bar for brightness. I moved it and now I can see my screen again. I do not know why it was off...or at the very bottom of the scale...I never was in that site. Thanx guys.
It may have been an action set for when the battery is low to preserve remaining life!!
