I want to upgrade to Windows 7 my system, after upgrading from XP to Vista yesterday, so...

I decompressed the .iso to a folder on C:/, then I load the setup, then click Install Now, then I get:

Windows was unable to create a required installation folder.

Error code: 0x8007001F

while it's on 'Setup is copying temporary files'.
I can't find a solution online for this, what can I do?

And I don't want to do a clean install from booting the DVD, I want to keep my data.

Thanks in advance, Moonhack.

Hello.

I belive the issue could be caused due to you are not using a bootable device like a DVD.It appears you are trying to install Win 7 from a none bootable install and trying to run from within windows.

Put Win 7 on DVD and install it via DVD and use upgrade option.

I am sure others can input and add more help.

JB.

Sounds like you have some device that Windows 7 does not like.
What devices do you have attached?

Also I see that you have gone from XP to Vista and now trying to go to Windows 7, Have you REALLY check out your system and ALL devices and Programs under the Vista OS?

Also did then run the Windows 7 advisor and see what it reports?

External DVD drive?

Does your Acer support booting from external devices?

Did you set the Acer to boot from external USB devices in BIOS if it supports this function?
