There is a local forum that I read regularly. If you post anything, there is a link in the bottom corner for your IP addy. It shows any and all you may have. There have been issues on and off over the years of people getting bombarded with spam and or viruses after they have used this forum. The moderators insist it has nothing to do with them. There is nothing they can do about it.

This is a very rural area and from what I've read on these forums, a lot of people are not too "up" on all the protection they should have on their computers. Someone just posted the other day that Norton caught Trojans that were being sent from this sites web address.

My question is: Is it possible for some unsavory character(s) to try to do harm to one's computer with their easily found IP addresses?
