The program that removes spyware the best is Webroot's Spysweeper. they have won all kinds of awards and provides shields against being re-infected.
I do not think its a wise decision to run more than one spyware program as they have the propensity of picking each others infections up. Had a bad experience in this regard. Would suggest you defrag, and run your error checking program.

I am having a problem like, when i double-click an icon it takes about 10 seconds. I'm

really really **** up.

I'm defraging almost everyday. I'm also using Spybot S&D, AVG Anti-Virus, Lavasoft

Ad-Aware, SpywareGuard, SpywareBlaster, and ZoneAlarm Firewall. I also try that

Error Checking, i ran that before, and the Disk Cleanup thingy, and i'm deleting cookies

every now and then. I did all that, but still, my computer is very very slow!

"Slowdown after installing some components...."

Which components did you install? How big is your power supply? How much RAM does the system have? How much free drive-space is there? What is the drive size? FAT32 or NTFS? Which processor are you using?

I'll let the HJT experts handle the HJT log.

My computer starts to slow when i installed ZoneAlarm Firewall. I don't know how big

is the power supply. The system have 96.0 RAM. Since i bought this computer, its

capacity is 37.2 GB, now its only 29.5 GB. The computer is NTFS, Windows XP.

So did mine on this latest re-install with a new XPSP2 CD. I uninstalled ZA and use Kerio firewall instead. You could also try Sygate firewall.

96Mb of RAM is very low. Looks like 128 - 32 Video RAM. You would be better off putting two 256Mb modules in there, if the machine is up to it.

If you download Diskeeper 9 Professional (not Home) evaluation copy, you can check the MFT(s) with Frag-Shield and see if there is anything wrong. You can also schedule a boottime defrag and defrag the paging file. If you have too many paging file fragments this can slow your system down too.

Was the drive initially formatted to NTFS or was it converted from FAT32 to NTFS?

If you run: chkdsk ,from a Command prompt it will show a line which should read:

4096 bytes in each allocation unit

If there was a successful conversion. (It can go wrong with XP too.)

If it reads - 512 bytes in each allocation unit - it can affect performance.

(If you run chkdsk in the Run window the window will close before you have time to read it.)

You have a 40Gb drive (Decimal size) which has 40,000,000,000 Bytes, if you divide the total bytes by 1024 three times you get:

39062500Kb, 38146.97Mb & 37.2Gb (Binary sizing.)

So you have used 7.75Gb so far.

I think the computer is really formatted to NTFS..

I downloaded Diskcleaner before, but it expires, and the one i downloaded is the Home

Version, but if you want me to download it again, what is the site again? :)

I think you still need to pay for Diskeeper Professional, is it? or it's free?

thanks for your reply.

Oh.. ok, but as much as possible i don't want to use money.. :(

Maybe i'm interested if i have a virus, or if there's something wrong in the Log.

By the way, thank you RAM-PAGE, i appreciate your help! really

Your log looks clean. I think your problem is that you only have 96 megs of RAM. Is this a laptop? Win XP runs best with more than 256 megs of RAM. With the firewall, you would do better to have at least 512 megs of RAM. I have a laptop with 256 megs of ram and it was not as quick as it should have been. I checked the settings and it only had 190's worth of RAM as the vid chipset was using 60 megs. I added 256 megs of RAM and now the laptop is really quick - much quicker than it was. The firewall is a hog for memory and that is probably what slowed you down. You need a firewall. You should think about adding a 512 meg chip of RAM to your mobo. What is the speed of your CPU? More RAM will help your whole system run better...doc
