Slow/pausing downloading

720 Views 5 Replies 2 Participants Last post by  mobo
I got hijacked last week and was able to remove the files (.dll) so everything was back to normal, or so I thought. Each time I download large files it pauses or quits all together. When listening to the 30 sec songs on amazon.com it will play about 10 seconds then have to rebuffer. Is this leftover spyware? Could it be the modem/cable? I have run adaware, spybot, and hijack this as well as Norton AntiVirus. The only file I removed as a result of the hijacking that gave me an error message upon reboot was image.dll. Should I reinstall this? Would it help? Last time I reinstalled it, the hijacked homepage/favorites/search engine reappeared. What are my options at this point? Reinstall OS? Thanks for the help.

Why not post a log for us to see first.
Thats a clean log so maybe give an Internet Explorer repair a try http://www.theeldergeek.com/repair_ie6.htm
The rebuffering tells us that it is involved in the connection aspect so since you have repaired internet explorer without success then perhaps build a new connection..
