Yes, you're right. Not sure where my head was.Actually, if it were 802.11g the nominal connection speed would be 54 Mbps, but the actual data transmission would max out in the mid 20's.
No. As I said above the maximum actual data throughput for 802.11g is about 26 or 28 Mbps (in ideal conditions). If you have an 802.11g adapter there is no way that you are getting 54 Mbps with Speedtest.net or any other reasonable measurement tool.so is the 802.11g causing the internet to be restricted to 54 because the adapter on my laptop is 802.11g
